Teach-outplanned for a voluntary withdrawal

The challenge

An RTO intending to close engaged CAQA for advice on withdrawing its registration in an orderly, compliant and student-first manner.

What we did

RTO closure is not simply a business exit. Until withdrawal is approved, the provider remains registered and legal obligations continue to apply. The regulator requires that a withdrawal application must explain arrangements for completion or transfer of current students, and that legal requirements continue until the withdrawal application is approved. CAQA advised the provider across the full closure process. The first priority was students. Every enrolled student needed a documented pathway: completion through teach-out, formal transfer, certification where appropriate, communication and support.
