Supporting three TAFEs
CAQA has assisted three TAFEs with the transition to new training packages. This experience extends across more than one institution and includes a high-volume course with thousands of enrolled students.
Each TAFE required a plan suited to its qualifications, learner progress, campuses, teaching teams and delivery arrangements. The work brought together curriculum changes, resource development and student transition planning.
What transition support involves
- Identify superseded and replacement training products, changed requirements and applicable transition arrangements.
- Compare units, assessment requirements and resource coverage to identify gaps and redevelopment work.
- Plan updates to training and assessment strategies, learning resources, assessment tools and mapping.
- Review learner progress and identify appropriate completion or transfer pathways with the TAFE.
- Coordinate staff briefings, resource handover, student communications and implementation milestones.
- Track readiness and outstanding actions so each institution can manage its transition responsibilities.
A coordinated implementation
The engagements supported teaching teams to move to updated training products with mapped resources and coordinated study plans. CAQA’s role was advisory and practical: helping each TAFE organise the work and implement the changes. The TAFE retained responsibility for enrolments, learner communication and compliance; any regulatory extensions or approvals remained matters for the relevant authority.
